The lens is full metallic, very nice and the adapter too.
It has continuous -steples aperture and the zoom ring is precise.
The image is on the soft side, especially in the corners.
At the center is ok.
Nice for portraits , not for landscapes.
It has no vignetting and nice bokeh.





this one is with the macro adapter , vignetting by me in PP.

 
Not bad seems quite nice for what it is. How big is it in comparison to the 18-55mm ?

For it's price is there anything else comparable in size and quality at that focal length? I think it's the cheapest in £ for me...

Also was wondering could you please post sample of this lens vs 18-55mm @35mm please would like to see sharpness and colour difference between the two! Thanks!

You're right the difference is actually uncanny. Wonder if there is a difference between the quality of glass though... I'm betting it's the same though!
 
i have compared the SLR magic with my friends 35mm cctv and they have different perform differently. the SLR magic does not flare as much as the cctv lens and has a lot less dark corners when wide open than the cctv.

i have the comparison pics in an old post but i cannot remember which one
