Lacking any other place to put this:

Please visit my new and drastically improved web site. The newest project published is a "remake" of Stieglitz's famed "Equivalents" series from the 1920s. Although I use a variety of cameras, including the Nikon D300 with Zeiss ZF lenses and an LX-3 Panasonic, the source images for this project were made by the most expensive digital cameras in existence--those in orbiting space telescopes!

Feedback is always welcome.

+1 on the "no" to PDF's for viewing photos, and also on the revolving flash header, you have a page of underlined text that doesn't stay anywhere near long enough to read.....that's just rude. I applaud your effort to design a page, but you should always design it with your readers in mind......think like a reader, it should be fast, direct and everything easily accessible. I do like the style concept, so you have something to build on :-)

Just to be clear, the underlined text you are referring to is the image, not a description of it. And it is only a portion of the image. To pause it to allow people to read the banner for it would require a pause of a minute or so...I see what you are saying but aside from yanking the image I don't see a longer pause as a solution...the full image (and others in that project) are in the portfolio book.

Sorry you don't like pdf files. What exactly don't you like about pdf files?
Actually, I quite like pdf files. What I don't like is having to download one just to browse some photos.
O.K., thanks for your input. How would you suggest I display my images?

Yes, I knew that was a picture of a text document, just thought I'd point out that displaying a picture of a document briefly may be a turn-off for people who wonder what it's about. YMMV, it's your site after all.

As far as the PDF's vs photos go, thumbnails and galleries often work better. Again, your choice, but you did ask for opinions.

You know, Alan, I was about ready to respond to your comment in a serious manner but then out of curiosity I clicked on your profile and glanced over your last dozen posts or so. Wow.
Ah good. Then you'll have perceived that I have no time for idiots.

I like your cloud photos. Overall, I like them more than I recall liking Stieglitz's cloud photos. Nicely done.

Well he was the first wasn't he.

Orson
Thanks--glad you enjoyed looking at them. The Stieglitz series can, I admit, seem like an acquired taste :)

Hello Darin!

Thanks for sharing your site & sight with us! For some inexplicable reason, I like the pillows the best, those would look great I think hanging in a hallway leading to a bedroom.

Pay no mind to these negative nannies here, your website looks really good.
