beginner is confused if he should by canon eos 550d

I'm a beginner with just some basics of photography and I'm thinking to buy canon eos 550d. Should I or should I not I'm willing to buy this camera for the sole reason I already took some photos with my friends camera which is the same and I felt comfortable with it. What should I do?

What camera do you use now?
Do you think you are ready for the step into DSLR land?

Do you have any idea what sort of photography you wish to pursue (eg landscape, wildlife, macro, portraits, sports)?
Are you aware of how much money you will need to spend on equipment?

If you like the camera and you feel you need it, want it and can afford it, then why not?

I used to have a eos 500n didn't really use it that much but got to grips with it with practise.

I now have a 550d and im very pleased with it. Im no expert but can take some good shots.
Plenty of good stuff on here and on the web to help you along.

It cost me about £650 for basic lens kit but ive also purchased a Tamron 70-300mm. Just about to spend another £100 on a tripod tomorrow.

All in all ive spent around £1000 (And i want to spend more) but cant afford it lol

You've tried it already and like using it - perfect. I could hardly find a better reason to choose it.

Unless you try something else and prefer that - so do try some more at shops.

If you're comfortable with it you're more likely to use it and the more you use it the more likely you are to learn to use it well.

Canon EOS 550D/T2i is the way to go, just recently got mine exactly 20 days ago, and I could not have selected anything better.

But the key thing is comfort, if you are comfortable with; you will grow to appreciate it more and more.

It's a good camera with good reviews....

Whether it's the camera for you is a personal decision.. Sounds like you've used it and like it, so what better place to jump it at.......

if you've already handled the camera and taken some pics and liked the results then yes, the Canon 550D is probably a good buy
