Hi all! Here we go again with the weekly C&C thread. All are encouraged to participate. Hope you had a nice week!

Whether a daily or weekend warrior, you're invited to show the passion for imaging with µ4/3 here.
1. Please respond to THIS message to create a reply hosting YOUR images.
2. Remember to change the TITLE.

As you're among peers, interest in how the shot was obtained, exposure specs, and any related experience of interest is encouraged. Ask for C&C, or whatever you want from observers in regard to your image(s).

Participants should make it a point to comment on other's submissions (just as you'd like to have feedback on yours).
Let's see what's been driving your passion lately!

Hand held, by night, at f1.4 with 40mm Nokton

Nice restaurant:

Girls going to night club:

It's felt a bit warm until recently, so this week felt like the beginning of Fall to me.

Taken with a GH1 and a Canon FDn 50mm f1.4 lens. My daughter's obviously moving, so I had to pick a focus point and try to hit the shutter as she entered it. It took several tries, but thankfully she kept swinging back into focus every couple seconds.

These are fine street exposures. It's nice to be able to shoot in that with credible results, no? What ISO were you using here?

I'm taken with the cafe/hotel facade, but I can't seem to get past those lit table umbrellas being in the way. :(

I like the mixed message. The treatment makes it rather timeless, though the plastic spray bottle, the power switch to the freezer, and the cell phone brings one back to the present.

Though, in a few years this "present" will be back then. But not as "back then" as "way back then", when things were more timeless (I guess that means time passed slower, back then, and even slower way back when). So there will be two "thens" in this photo, in the future. Crafty, Ray.

And I do very much like how the play of the screen works with the B&W tiled floor.

Thanks. Yes, she really enjoyed it - so much so that we went back the next day.

This used to be a Chili's Restaurant before they closed. Became a Mexican restaurant with a new paint job that sort of screams at you with colors as you pass the building. No processing, but linear polarizer used.

Interesting work. I would assume that MF with such a lens in low light it tough, so good work! I like the second more, since it's a more dynamic image. Looks like a wonderful area to explore with a camera. I hope you share many photos in the future.

Nice one, Ray! There's something nice about the solitude of this scene. It's clean and empty, so it makes me wonder what it might look like with warm pretzels in the oven. Ahhh...

The shoot-through screen really is a nice touch and adds depth.

Swing shots are tough with AF, so good work! I like the expression and the colors very much speak to your theme of fall. Well done!

West coast: pier at sunset, with the G1 + Oly 9-18. I was playing with the shadows.

East coast: I was working in eastern PA part of last week. Traveled home from Newark and had 1 spare hour before heading to the airport. So I went to see the Statue of Liberty for the first time in my life. I need to visit NYC one of these days. I saw lower Manhattan off in the distance, and really wanted to miss my flight. Thanks. It was actually manual focus (legacy lens), though I realize that I made it sound like AF in my original description. Sorry for the confusion.

I really like the first shot there. The sun peaking through directly at the camera is really cool. I also like that at first glance it's a shot of the pier, and then you notice the kids, giving a mostly inanimate subject a bit of life.

Some scenes from recent travels to Germany and Poland.

All shot with GF-1 and pany 14-45mm. PP in SilkyPix/Aperture. C&C welcome and always appreciated!

Cheers,

-Dan.

I generally love your west coast B&W beach shots. This one in particular, with shadows and siblings (apparently) and all is fantastic.

Nice capture with the two statues. Love how you placed Lady Liberty into the scene.

Thanks for sharing!
