A friend of mine bought a G2 from Dell and asked me to test for him. Only done in door with flash. The following are some comparisons:

(1) White balance: QV4000 is better than G2. G2 is too yellowing and red

(2) Focus: G2 is better than QV4000. G2's picture seems all focused but 4000 is about 80% focused (but I still think QV4000 is also ok)

(3) Detail: QV4000 is obvous a loser. For all the pictures I took with G2, I can see the detail of the face skin, but all that taken with QV4000 can not show any detail of the skin. QV4000 seems to introduce a paint brush to sweep everything, so that everywhere look very flat.

I am so regret to buy the QV4000 when I compared the QV4000 and G2. I would return it if possible. Or anyone want this, I can sell it for a good price.

Hi Tend,

Maybe the more serious photographers shun this, but on day one, I noticed that there was a lack of sharpness in my QV4000 pictures. So, I set the sharpness on the camera to +2 and have not touchd it since.

Again, I've no idea what (if any) detrimental effect this has had in other areas, but the sharpness improved to my satisfaction.

If (big if) someone were to buy my QV-4000, I'd either get:
1) a G2 (has audio in the movie clips) and (so I hear) better focusing
or

2) a CP5700 (huge zoom), but it lacks the low light illumination which I've really come to like, but it's also very expensive!

$30 Staples special (to get my foot in the door)
Polaroid Photomax 1000 (to make spending over $100 on a digicam palatable)
Casio QV4000 (in general very happy)
(3) Detail: QV4000 is obvous a loser. For all the pictures I took
with G2, I can see the detail of the face skin, but all that taken
with QV4000 can not show any detail of the skin. QV4000 seems to
introduce a paint brush to sweep everything, so that everywhere
look very flat.
