Daniel, you've pretty much listed everything.

Ezybox which comes with it's own coldshoe and mounting bracket, lightstand and adapter.

Followed when you're finished with patience when trying to fold the blasted ezybox back into it's tiny bag. I have two ezyboxes and they're superb but now I want a much larger version like the Westcott Big Mamma five footer.

Finaly, practice with it like mad and become totally familiar with how it works. Up high, down low, straight at the subject, feathered etc. Let it become your new best friend so every photo op you come across you'll know how the ezybox performs.

Good luck, you're going to love it.

Thing is, though, is that if you're going to go w/ a softbox, an SB-900 is a much better choice. Probably not what you want to hear- sorry.

Thnaks alot Hoddo for the info. You guys always seem to help me so much. I am looking into finding a sb900 somewhere. I am excited to get it now. Thanks again so much for the help.

It's true that the SB-900 has it's advantages but you'll still find the SB600 perfectly useable with the EZyBox.

Nice post on the Cheetah Box. Wish I'd seen that before spending 2x as much on an EzyBox. That said, I love my EzyBox. Here are a couple of thoughts regardless of which you buy.

Don't get the small one. For a little more money, start with at least the 24". It folds to a nice size and does great light. They just came out with a 30" model and it's on my wish list.

I use my Nikon SB900 diffuser with the EZ. I'm assuming the SB600 also has one. This gives you three layers of diffusion and very even light with almost no hotspt. Up close, I have one of my Nikon diffusers with some light colored masking tape on just the front panel. This "forces" more light out the side of the SB and inside the EZB.

If you go the EZB route, skip the kit and get the lightstand and angle bracket separately. I found suitable products for much less than what was in the kit. I wish they would have built an angle joint into the EZB bracket as I can't see using without one. Luckily I had some already.

It's a great product. Enjoy... Paul D.
