Hi All- I am using an Epson 785EPX, Olympus C2100 Camera, Epson Premium Glossy paper, making the printer settings for all the above. Why oh why do my prints come out with a reddish tone??? On the monitor (yes I have calibrated it), everything looks fine, on paper it looks like a red filter was used. TIA

Den -- have you tried using the Epson Printer Utility to check and clean the print nozzles? If they are clogged you can get these symptoms. Do a check of the nozzles to see if eveything is working OK. Just about every color balance problem I have had with my 785 has been fixed this way.

Good luck!

I have had that problem also. I only had to clean the heads a few times and the next time I printed they came out great. I love the printer.

If that doesn't solve your problem, search this forum for the word 'magenta'. Earlier in the year there were color cartridges sold by Epson that had a strong magenta cast and profiles correcting this were posted in this forum. You might have one of these old carts. My recent ones haven't needed this correction, but you might have slightly old ink carts.

I appreciate it but...has tried it. Cleaned the heads about 5-6 times just to make sure. It is really a slight reddish cast over the entire print. Maybe I need to clean them several more times? One other question, should I be using the "Photo Enhance" mode or not?

What software are you printing from, I had this problem with QImage and Paintshop, Download the latest PIM Drivers and install, it contains the correct ICC Profiles needed to alleviate the problem! --

sometimes the red hue indicates double profiling. did you try prinnt out a photo with film factory or in computerless mode? did you do a nozzle check and it showed all the nozzles were ok? you usually do not have to clean the nozzles 5 times. Whenever I find that my nozzle check is not good, the first thing I do is to remove the offending ink tank (if the black nozzle check is not good I remove the black cart, if one of the colors shows not good I just remove the color) and reinstall the ink tank. These tanks are chipped, they remember ink levels. It will do a prime after you reinstall it, and after it is finished you can print out another nozzle test to check it. I have found this method will clear up a problem much faster than doing multiple cleanings. Sometimes it may requiire 1 more cleaning, which I just do thru the print utilities (same place as the nozzle check)

Try changing cartridges..make sure its only an Epson t008
