If you click on the link marked 'Original' you should be able to download the full-size, SF JPEG exactly as it came from the camera.

Thanks!
The post however hasn't made it to the site's homepage.

Hi all,

not content with shooting an E-5 preview gallery,
Why was Richard not content with shooting the E-5 gallery? Anything we should know about that camera already?

You are aware that we read messages into every word that is posted....

(big grin) Damien

Richard's also been playing with a production M. Zuiko Digital 40-150mm F4-5.6, and put together a preview samples gallery for you:

I think we should all appreciate the attention you've given 4/3rds and m4/3rds products, not just lately but since the E-3 and all the lens reviews you've done these years. Before it seemed oly was rather overlooked, but samples like this really highlight some clear strengths, and weaknesses of both systems. A good measure of image quality.

I look forward to reading your in depth review on the E-5, and hopefully a lens review or two on these new m4/3 lenses popping up.

considering this is an inexpensive consumer zoom, I'd say the pictures are easily up to par. I think this will be popular as part of a two lens kit in future Olympus cams.

The shots of the birds look really sharp! So far this lens looks a little more attractive than the Panasonic 45-200 especially if you have a PEN.

Indeed. The original 40-150/4.0-5.6 for FT is a tremendous bargain as a kit. Since they've already dropped the E-P1 prices in a very similar fashion to their old FT price drops, I suspect we'll have great deals on m14-42+m40-150 kits within a year.

It's possible they won't sell the new 40-150 as a kit of course, but I truly hope they do. It's not a tiny lens, but it's small, light and the image quality is good or excellent for the price.

Always a good test to see if a lens (and camera) can paint feathers (and/or loose hair) and this lens seem to do a good job of that... A little low on mid-tone contrast, but otherwise fine.

Thanks for these!

I am really impressed by these shots. Definitely better than I was expecting and I am surprised there is so little talk on the forum about it.

Becuase we all have already decided to get this lens.

Hi Andy,

Does this mean we are going to get a review of this lens as it is the first time I can remember DBR doing a quikey preview of a new lens? I realy hope so.

If you do, I also hope you do the Lumix 45-200mm as a comparison as this lens must have generated more, and more diverse, comment than any other piece of m4/3 kit on DPR furums.

I've printed several small parts of the eagle at A3+ size and the quality is certainly high enough for print comps. I think it is no better however, than my G1+45-200 could do when correctly focused (I always use AF+manual on the G1 with this lens) and all shake effects avoided.

Andy and/or Richard,

Sorry for this follow-up but I forgot to change the title to attract your attention on my earlier contribution to this thread!

Hope you will get a reply to my earlier comments on your preview of the M.ZD 40-150mm micro4/3 lens and review of this lens (and maybe of the 45/200 after all these years)

Thanks for the preview it was good and very useful.

We've done quick galleries and previews of lenses on several occasions before - for example the Panasonic fisheye.

Right now, I'm afraid, we have so much new stuff to consider that we simply can't make any promises about what might be reviewed quickly.

So I purchased the 4/3 40-150 (not the micro) prior to my trip to Kenya, would really love to trade it in for this lens and have 100% compatibility on all focus modes, etc. Crazy?
