I wonder if the other forums are enjoying the new look of DPR's site???

I think you will find if you go to "Open Talk", the answer is "Not very much". It is mildly better than getting your head kicked in by a person wearing diving boots, but not much!

Yep,

It's site wide... kinda funny because of the number of people complaining.. certainly get's your attention huh :P

Meh I already have one so I don't care LOL.

The only time a smaller sensor with the same pixel count is superior to a larger sensor (aka higher pixel density) is when you are focal-length limited.

I have ad block on and everything is the same as it ever was. No changes at all here.

OK, I see now...

The font on this forum is so tiny that I switch to my browser's user mode which expands to 140% so that I don't see anything to the right of the message column.

Also, when navigating to a page, I immediately jump down to the messages and I never see the top of the page.

In switching to 100%, I now see the right side with blinking ads.

Good grief. So much clutter.

I don't mind ads at all if they don't move and distract from reading.

There - that's my rant for today!

Yeah, just opened DPR in Firefox (which I don't normally use), downloaded AdBlock Plus 1.2.2 and now the red is gone. I guess I will use FF at least for now until DPR sorts this out.

Better than the drab black background. The world isn't black and white after all.

... it seems Canon has bought all of DPR to promote the EOS 60D, and they do so by highlighting that the 60D has got a rotating screen!! "What's your angle, etc".
OMG!!! A swivel screen!!! This is sensational !!!!!

Errhm, maybe not ;-)

Kind regards,
Magnus

I don't know, the more I look at it the more attractive those diving boots get...

Just popped over from the other side (nikon forums) and I am not surprised to see the annoyance with the chosen layout and particularly the color of the advertisement in question.

I dont have a problem with DPR advertising a Canon product ,in fact I am quite happy about it ,the better Canon does the more my chosen brand will have to step up and be counted too.

but this ghastly red is simply too distracting ,I finally downloaded a neat little proggie to block ads and I am happy again .
rant over and back to the dark side for me .

Not that I dislike Canon but the way DPreview has changed from a more or less indendend site to a very commercial one.

Inevitable I suppose knowing who is the owner for some time now.

Just a pity.

Is it x-mas already? :D
