So if they could give the K-5 SDXC support with FW they could do that with the K-7 also but I don't think FW alone could do that like SD to SDHC IMHO.It will have it with the first FW update.
I do. SDXC and SDHC are different only in terms of maximum speed rate of transfer, while addressing technique is the same. On the other hand SD and SDHC are far more different in internal structure.I don't think FW alone could do that like SD to SDHC IMHO.

Other than that, it seems to be a good K-7 Mark IIIn that overall confusion they've also forgot one, perhaps most important thing of all: to double up K-5's buffer size. Pity that can't be solved with a software update -- say by deleting some funny software filters and freeing up that memory space in favour to buffer size, but it can be sorted out if they do listen well before commencing with production ...
Who need those funny-filters in camera worth 1600US$. I want to see it perform better than Nikon D300/D300s and Canon EOS 7D in low light when I am paying that kind of money. It seems they were working very hard till the very last second to issue the K-5. PR details are all over the place, all sources claim different things. I bet even Ned Bunnell was working overtime for months, driving teams around, making them sandwiches, fruit salads and squeezing orange juices, buying Cokes, burning midnight oil in AF calibration and testing WR seals by splashing test K-5 models with coffee spilt in hysterical laughter.
Two days before the K-5 announcement Pentax has also posted news they're found a new partner in PR -- I ask myself why? %-)

Those filters are not too bad; many photographers today forget what it was like taking photographs 15+ years ago where humans still valued expressiveness of photographs, not mere technical values and specs like we digital zombies today.Chaitanya S wrote:
