Back from a long vacation, some of my favorites - C&C Welcome

Hello, I thought I'd introduce myself first.

I've been a regular on the Canon forum since my G11 days, and have contributed to some threads here after acquiring my 550D with the kit lens + 50mm f1.8 + 55-250 EF-S. I also have both a 580EX and 430EX speedlights and some lighting gear.

I have no idea why I had to introduce myself, but now with that out of the way, here are my favorite pictures from a long vacation. It is the first time for me to post pictures from my 550D, if you check my gallery you'll find a lot of pictures from the G11.

You'll find description with each photo below, all C&C are welcome.

P.S. Don't know why, but the pictures doesn't look as good or as sharp as they are full size on my PC.

I took a course in art last winter. I learnt the difference between a fine oil painting, and a mechanical thing, like a photograph. The photograph shows only the reality. The painting shows not only the reality, but the dream behind it.

Does anyone have a solution for the flare on the pool image?

Nope, Egypt, North Coast on the Mediterranean Sea.

A circular polarizer should take care of the reflective water surface you mention below.

Thanks, but I was talking about the glare from the lamp posts, the blue spots you see everywhere around the lights.

Regarding the flare, did you have an UV or protective filter on at the time?

No, nothing on the lens, I guess the flare is normal because of the direct light sources in front of the lens, but I'm trying to guess how to get rid of it.
