Hi, all

My name is Haris, I come from Indonesia. I'm a new HS10 user. As a matter of fact HS10 was my first Fuji. After a few days of playing around with it, I'm quite happy with the camera. Of course it was not perfect and I can see where the critics were coming from. But for now I'm trying to get to know it better and make the most of it.

I'm a novice on photography and surely will be back here with a question of two.

See you around!

Here's some of my first shots, all resized and a bit of sharpening, no other PP:

Welcome. You've got a good start with the HS10. I like the flowers, the kid, the bird and archer silhouette. Good shooting.

Just a Pixelpusher, currently shooting Fujifilm Finepix HS10

Thanks, 2raj. I initially wanted to grab the S200EXR but it was already hard to find here. Still trying to get good indoor shots. I suspect it wasn't the HS10 strength, but of course maybe it's because I haven't dig deep enough to the settings yet.

Welcome aboard. Great pics. Would have like to have seen a vertical panorama of the statue ;)

Welcome hope you have fun here, I’m in the same boat as you bought my HS10 right when it came out. Do have to say since then I learnt a lot and would also say that my photos getting better day by day learning from others. Here you will find a lot of capable ppl but make sure you don’t get sucked into emotional confrontations (big egos you find here as well which can be good as long as you not getting into a fight).

Now to your first series if you don’t mind me commenting on it (no worries all good). I love the first shot this is a very good framing (it looks very powerful and interesting, I think sometimes not to see all is better than when you see the whole subject as long as it is interesting framed). The flowers are very nice shot is it hand held? The rooster is nicely framed as well as a portrait shot (same for the kid). I already can see you think a lot about framing which is good (if you did not think than you are just a natural). Which program mode did you use?
Keep them comming :-)

Welcome aboard! The rooster shot is hilarious!

The statue image would have been perfect had the feet not be cut off. Nice silhouette.

Thanks. That panorama thing is the one thing I haven't figured out yet. All my attempts turn our to be blurry. Maybe it's because I didn't move the camera properly or too fast. Definitely will try some more.

I have to admit the forum tend to get hot at times :D But I'm here just trying to learn, and other than the fights, this forum is a good sharing space.

The flowers shot is hand held as I fall in love with the glass reach, and I was trying to shoot all hand held :P I wasn't really thinking about framing, but the grid on the live view sure helped. Mostly I used the Auto (C) program with some twiddling on the EV. I used some Program (P) as well, as well as the SR (night) for the plane shot.

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks. I thought about that too. Too bad the statue was about 10 m high above so there's no way I could shoot the feet. So I omit them altogether to hide the statue stand :P

I am not a photographer, I’m just a guy that takes pictures.

Thanks a lot Rheyns, and JB.

That rooster shot was all too coincidental. I met him wandering around the sidewalk while I was waiting for my pizza order. Glad I had the camera with me at the time.
