NEW to photography!

Any suggestions to where I might be able to find a good website for lessons?
not sure about any websites, but go to your local bookstore or just search the internet and read, read, read, then go take pics.

There are several sites that offer tutorials that you may find helpful. Here are a couple of them:

http://www.luminous-landscape.com/techniques/

http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech.htm

http://ir.webphotoschool.com/

http://www.outdoorphotographer.com/how-to.html

I'm sure if you look around you'll find alot more information as the web is loaded with helpful tips sites. I found I learned a little from each site as I read and tried out their various tips. Hopefully you'll find something that will work for you.

Good Luck, David

Best advice is to just go out and shoot. You may take a hundred shots, and only have 1 you will like. That's normal. Just keep trying. Find a subject you like to photograph ie: people/animals/nature/events/abstract. Just find what works for you. A book can tell you what to do, but only you can get the results.

My advice would be as follows:

1) Lookup: Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO, and Depth of Field on Google.
2) Take you camera out and take pictures experimenting with the above!

3) Take some of the pictures that you like and come back to here or another forum/site and ask for some constructive criticism.
--Important!--
4) Apply CC - with a grain of sand ;) - and start the process over again!

That's pretty well how I've learned! I'm a hand's on learner and I like to get CC from the "pro's" on how I can improve. It's definitely helped A LOT!

Have fun and welcome to the wonderful world of photography!
