I'm new! Questions about F717

1. I did the experiment about the HFA thing, my camera seems works
well.
But the distance that it shows between using the HFA and not using it
are different. I knew there are lots of people having this problem

The question is: do you consider this an individual problem of my
camera, or
you guys will consider this is a "Sony F717" general problem?
Should I return the camera or just wait for the firmware upgrade?

2. I played with the macro mode. When I was trying to focus a
subject in
about only 6 cm, I found out that I cannot make the camera focus on it
when I also zoom in the camera into the closest distance. But it
works
pretty well when it's at the widest angle and the middle of the len.
Is this also a general situation??

3. I was viewing the pictures on the LCD and I found out the colors on
LCD is are not accurate at all....kind of frustrated... Is it
wrong to look
and judge the colors on the LCDs???

I really want to know the answers and learn more about this F717.
Please give me some feed backs, I appreciate this.

Since I just got it for couple hours, I will definitely play with
it for a
while.

Yes normal. You can foucus in macro under an inch at lowest zoom
and around 3 feet at highest zoom . Move farther away from subject
and you can zoom a little more etc.

Ambient light can affect it. Judge the colors on the puter. Try the
Viewfinder by sliding the switch above the lcd screen. This helps
in bright sunlight.

This seems to be fairly common. If it is doing this but you are
still finding focus works fine and there are no great problems,
then keep it. Only return the camera when you find it is not
performing satisfactorily to your requirements. There will be no
firmware upgrade. Sony has never produced a firmware upgrade. They
may recall or accept cameras back for an update but they will never
release a firmware upgrade, not in the near future anyway.

This is normal.

Usually the colour is accurate, try under different lighting
conditions and just get used to it. I find the LCD to be one of the
best on the market at the moment.
