You said you go into photoshop and correct the images before you send them to walmart. I was wondering what type of touchups you do in photoshop. It has been my experience that the digital processing at walmart also touches up the images so it seems almost better not to change the original image. I was wondering what your experience tells you?
..the photo department at my local WallyWorld just got one of the
new setups with the kiosk where you load the photos from your own
media (CD, memory card), program in the sizes and quantities and
minor adjustments yourself, and they print your digital files on
photo paper. Needless to say, i'm amazed! I have a photographer
friend who is a "film snob". His words, "Digital looks good on the
computer screen, but will never look as good as film for printing"
Well, he( and every one else i've shown them to) couldnt tell they
were digital at all. Everything I had printed were 8x10's printed
from SHQ jpeg's shot with my UZI, and they are indistinguishable
from film. Absolutely amazing. With the setup my walmart has, as
long as I have corrected the image in photoshop, it will produce
excellent results.
