Hi all,

I don't have to talk about all the doubts of 717's AF which were described here more or less but clearly. You know what am takling about.
All night long I was thinking what to do and that's my idea:

Am gonna buy Sony DSC- P 71 [ for my wife ;-) ] and am gonna use it untill a new succesor appear. I do hope that time there will be no so much
bed news / doubts about it . One thing more which nobody explaind here:

As it stayed my previous thread ; I had 707 and HAF was ON all the time. I had no problem with focusing in any light condition and situations.

Just simply: the camera ( 707 ) was automaticly choosing the best possible set of AF itself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway don't worry Am still among you.

Honestly, we were looking so hard we probably just found a problem thats been there all along (707,505). Can anyone confirm those had the same problem?

Heheheh... sounds like a good solution for you (and your wife... --cough!!--)

To be honest, I've considered getting an inexpensive stop-gap solution for myself, as well. I'm waiting to see how the DSLR reviews and race goes, and I'd like to see what else Sony has up its future sleeves. You KNOW they're cooking up something cool. :-)

Truth be told, the P71 is no more perfect than the F717. And remember, its movie mode does not include Sound. Just a reminder.

But in general I like the color of the P-series.

Difficult to find confirmation. Those with the F717 have generally let go of their F707. Fortunately or unfortunately.

However, I'm certain that we remember the F707 with just a bit more fondness than is probably justified. :-)

I certainly had my own issues with the F707.

Ernet, Ernet, Ernet.......Come on, this is all in your head. The 707 was just as difficult to use, you just ignored that 707 AF HAF problem and went on.

May I suggest some photo classes....and a brand new key chain laser pointer?

And also, have you run your buying decision by Ulysses and Shay? I mean, you need to get some real insight on this purchase.

And now for the real answer....

Ernet, I agree with you and applaud that you are not accepting anything less than what you paid for.

If you feel right with your decision, then it is the right one.

Good luck!

Sorry, Ernet. I can't lie about it.

You want me to tell them how you found my number, called my house over and over and over, kept bombing me with e-mails and faxes, and even sent a biplane crop-duster over my house to write the words in the sky "Which One, Ulysses?"

I mean, you really were over the top about this little camera purchase, Ernet. ;-]

What????? I do not dislike anyone on here. I just think it is a shame that you have to wade through 65% garbage (in which you produce 48.5 % of of it) to get to some really good information.

I still have that ocean front property in Arizona that you were looking to buy.

let me know if you need some photos of the property before you sign the contract....

Thanks

Heheheheheh... I think we need to go through another independent analysis of the data. Yours is clearly biased. Do you work for the company that tests the Epson and Canon printers? :-)

It was my way of raising the percentage of my contribution to the level of junk found here in the forum. I'm making jgaddy's efforts that much harder.

I think I've found a new mission. Just when I was considering the curtailing of my post rate. I've got a reason to catch my second wind now, baby!!!! :-)

Ok. Now I must confess I work for agricultural company and we are going to fit our harvesters with 171 to take a photo of all Micky mouses who steal the seed by day ( AF ) and by night ( HAF ).
