Bruges in Belgiun: Three night panos

Was on tv here last night, Jack! It really captures night-time Bruges and gives a very alternative view of the city. Perfect timing for Phil's panos.

I was at a conference in Bruges on the 9th of September 2001 so I shall never forget the place. It was a very stange experience standing in one of those medieval streets looking through a tv shop window and witnessing that awful event.

I have been since with happier memories I hasten to add.

Beautiful work. The wet pavement adds a sparkle too.

Awesome panos, Phil! As always, another great panoramic tour of a great European city.
Thanks, Cindy!
It's so nice to see you back here--glad to hear things have calmed down enough for you to work on some pics!
And I sure hope it stays that way. :-)
I was just checking out your ferris wheel thread! Cindy
Will comment soon!

I instantly recalled a film noire, called "In Bruges", starring Colin Farrel, Ralph Fiennes and Brendan Gleeson from around 2008. You have captured the town square and canals wonderfully. Thanks...
Yes, I've seen this film too a year ago, and now am looking to get it again after my visit to see how Bruges is represented in it. A really strange and inventive film this is! :-)

Thanks for looking!

Masterfully done, Phil, as always. I also saw your cable guy, which was good too, altough not quite in the same league as these (more to do with my tastes, perhaps, than your photographs).
Thanks, jonska. You're right, the "cable guy" is another class of photography, hard to compare. These ones were definitely more work! ;-)

Cheers and thanks for the memories :)
Thanks for your comment and for the link, Jack. I've also seen this film, and am trying now to get a copy of it for a second look. So the trailer is a good start.

Nicely done as normal Phil, thought they all appear a little brighter than I'd imagine they should on my calibrated monitors.
Thanks, Rob. They are sure on the bright side - I also "developed" them on a calibrated monitor; I've a second uncalibrated one that has a other response curve or gamma especially for the midtones - and it looks a bit too bright on that one. AFAIK Macs also have a different gamma, so I might re-evaluate my processing for screen and tone down the lights a bit in a second version. For print it's already okay.

So thanks for your comment!
