I was waiting for the 60D to replace 40D, but then I gave in and bought the 7D last January for around $1300 after all the Bing cash back and Ebay buck. I was so happy with it and still happy :). Now the 60D(600D?) is out, I am even more happy, I finally make a good decision :). Anyone else? Have a good day every one :)

The 60D never was on as an option as the 7D already fulfilled every wish I ever had from a DSLR. The people moaning and whining now are those that were hoping for a 7DII with the name 60D and for the price of the 550D.

Extremely happy for the past eight months, and could not be happier as I had been able to shoot continuously under rain today, without having to worry :-)

Not so happy that you paid only $1300 for yours, and I paid $1699 for mine.

:)

But yes, I've had and loved it since last October; no regrets at all.

I am happy I bought the 7D. A great camera.

However, I am really confused how this is related to the 60D. Why would the release of an unrelated camera change your satisfaction with the camera you have? Isn't your happiness with the 7D based on the image quality and usability of the 7D?

Or is there some other factor I am missing?

I think most of us that went for the 7D kind of figured that buying this camera would have been the best bet. If a 60D did get released it would be a lesser camera in comparison... But what we all didn't expect was the extent of the "dumbing" down of the new so called 60D!! Obviously Canon wants to protect the 7D at all costs, and absolutely wants no other Canon Camera to compete with it's sales bottom line...

I just can't get my head around the naming of these cameras????? If only they would have badged the 7D the 60D, it would have made just about everyone happy! It is a crop body, it has no affiliation with the 5D series camp, so why position it like it does with a 7D name?

The 60D is nothing more than Rebel body period... you just don't go backwards in development, that's a manufacturing no no !! Sure it's got video, but to lose MA, Joy stick and the metal body, does not make it a XXD upgrade??? 50D's and 7D's will sell well today!

So obviously I am happy I bought the 7D !!

But you got 3 month of fun while I am spend 3 month just to read how much fun you guy have :(. In fact, after using the 7D for a week, I was telling my wife, I should have let her buy it for me when it first release.

Yet, I don't know about you, but every time I am buying some thing and the new model release shortly after that, just imagine I spend time waiting for 60D then go ahead and bought the 7D because I thought it is to hard for Canon to put in a new camera that go between the T2i and 7D, but then 60D release and is almost the same with 7D but for a normal XXD price range, then I would be not happy. But I understand your question, have a good day

Well said bellevilleguy :), I wish my English is a little better to write it down.

I'm very happy with my 7D!

I feel like I finally made the right decision regarding an upgrade. Usually a year later there are rumors of a newer version and I feel...well not regret but a bit envious of the newer features.

For me the 7D was a major upgrade (from 20D) I debated going to the 5DII, but decided I couldn't justify the price, and there were aspects of the 7D I liked better (FPS, wireless flash control, movie capablity etc). Have not regretted the decision.

Then the 60D specs came out. I briefly entertained going to the 50D, but decided to wait (glad I did - love the 7D) I wouldn't consider the 60D for my needs - my hands are large and I think it would be too small ( I like the 7D size, and it's slightly large than my 20D) and I love the build quality of the 7D, though frankly the 20D was build quality was fine.

The 60D looks like a plastic toy in comparison. All my CF cards work fine in my 7D. I have AF adjustment available to me in the 7D. Everything about the 7D seems better....as it should.

The 60D is a fine amateur camera. The 7D is perfect for advanced users and Pros.

I am thrilled with my 7D finally bought a camera from a company that doesn't totally trash their customers high cost camera purchase. Had they put the 60D out with it being an almost even match for the 7D they would have basically slapped all of us 7D buyers in the face. A lot of companies do exactly that. So I am thrilled.

How long does it take a vegetable to start loosing its freshness? This happens in the amount of time it takes it to go from its victory party to its congressional office!

...it always gets better, and better (there is a room for improvement.
but certainly NOT in the direction 60d seems to be pointing :()

Just curious about why all these people are happy they bought the 7D instead of waiting until the 60D came out.

Without a doubt, I'm happy with my 7D.

The 60D is just too different from what I need. And that's what I based my purchase on with the 7D--it was what I needed.

I DO think that articulating screen is cool, though.
