I went from the 20D to the 7D, but if the 60D had been available at the same time, I still would have gone to the 7D. The 60D just isn't what I want, but I think the market for such as camera is definitely there. It would be interesting to know the stats on how many 50D owners go for the 60D (or some future X0D model) and how many go to the 7D (or some future model).

That is dependent on either having a pentamirror viewfinder with secondary sensor for the live view or having no optical viewfinder at all and replacing that with an EVF (yuck)... So be careful what you wish for, not everything is as clear cut and throughout without drawbacks...

I have been using xxxD bodies for 5 years. Often thought about getting a better viewfinder. The articulated LCD screen is tempting too.
What always stopped me was the bulk of the xxD bodies. I think I'll have a close look at this 60D. There may be quite a few people like me out there.
I think that a lot of the negative reactions here is that this is a forum for semi-pro camera users, interestingly most people who complain state they are perfectly happy with their 7Ds. So why ??....

I want a rebel-weight DSLR with pentaprism too. I don't need an articulated LCD screen but want a top LCD display panel. However missing WB indicator on the LCD display panel is a surprise to me.
