As FZ100 is on market now in US, any idea when FZ40 will be released? I cannot wait to try it. :-)
 
Henry's.ca here in Canada has both items
up for purchase but I'm not sure if they
are in stock and have them ready for
shipping at this point or not?

To tell the truth...when I saw them on line,
I was a little hesitant to go further in the
off chance that I might actually hit the
"Add To Cart" button for one or both!...hahahaha.

really? Thanks for mentioning the shop name. I will be visiting canada/toronto this weekend. And I am really tempted to go there and buy :-D

thanks. I talked to other sellers and e.g. Vanns answer was they will have it at stock on the end of September (!).
 
:-D would be great!!! I would love to see it first and knowing myself, I would not put it back :-).
 
Don't know whether this helps you, but just for information: The FZ45 is available here in Germany, I saw a couple of them in shops here last Saturday (August 14).
 
Thank you dasmanul :-), I am in US and it suprises me that cameras are all around but not here. I feel like small kid just before Christmas. I know I have to wait, but I want it now. Will be happy though, to read experience of new users.
 
I acquired info at Henrys and guess what; its not in the stock yet, Panasonic did not give the date yet. Thats weird, I thoought when the release date is announced for the end of August, that there is a plan for stocking. I feel like small kid 2 weeks before Christmas with presents locked in cabinet, and without option to sneak in to touch it. :-)

I can feel with you there - I, too, have to wait, not for christmas, but roughly a week for my birthday when I hope to be completely unexpectedly surprised by an FZ45. ;-)

So keep up your patience, I hope the FZ40's not too far in the future for you in the US.

Bill Wilby (maxmilaney) out in BC said here not too long ago that he was expecting stock in mid September. Just a guess but when he gets his first FZ40s, he'll probably say so in this forum. Right, Bill?

In UK, on Amazon, I saw release dates for each Panasonic model some time in advance. Unfortunately, its not happening in US. No indication, just comming soon message. And then FZ100 appeared. Answers from sellers are that Panasonic did not specify arriving of their stuff yet. Only Vanns answered that FZ40 will be on stock towards the end of September with them. Seems camera is everywhere but not in US.
 
If the FZ100 is any indication, it arrived in the states about a week after UK posters said they received theirs.

Since someone has posted they received their FZ40 in the Uk. I would guess an instock status at B+H and J&R in NY next week.

Probably right around the time someone here in these forums said Canon might press release their new superzoom. It might be worthwhile to wait and compare.
 
price is 479 USD and its in the stock, with manual in Spanish. Seems that FZ40 is being stocked now as this appeared on amazon today.
I really cannot wait when I get mine.
 
Thanks Rich. I know its comming, I just cannot wait. With such a nice full monn and nice wheater and turkey vultures flying around my office window (6th floor), I am really looking forward. Especially when first posted images looks nice.

No way is the FZ40 worth nearly $500. I would get an FZ38-picture quality will be the same and it still does HD video,
 
I agree. I am happy though to see it in stock somewhere. This means that other shops will have it soon. Whats the difference in quality iof HD video between FZ40 and FZ35? Just in case you know parameters directly. Otherwise I will look for that. Thanks. Jarka
