can the HDR (high dynamic range) and high ISO (high-speed burst of up to six frames that then combines information from each frame to create a low-noise picture) be used at the same time? it would be very useful on interior ambient light shoots, thanks

No, unfortunately not. They are separate modes. HDR performs a similar stacking, however only with two shots rather than 6, like the HHT mode.

However, don't forget you can always shoot your own HDR shots as you could with any camera...take two or three HHT shots at various EV settings, then use HDR software to merge them into one...each of the 3 shots will benefit from the 6-frame stacking, then the HDR created.

Ah, ok

Could it be made handheld (like the panoramic program I think)

Handheld might be tough...as with any HDR being processed with software, they don't do alignment, so getting them aligned would be the first trick. Handheld, even small fluctuations likely would throw off even a little, which might give you some ghosting lines on the minor end to completely skewed perspective mismatch on the severe end. I would personally use either a tripod, or a flat, level surface to take HDR shots that are to be merged later - a wall top, fencepost, garbage can top - anything I could place the camera on, and hold it still while adjusting the EV and shooting.

Ah, ok, for HDR I need support, but not for panoramic or HHT mode if I understand you correctly.

My family has a DSC W70 that has 7.2MP, ISO 1000, Carl Zeiss 2.8-5.2/6.3-18.9 lens, that I can use at times, and I'd like a TX7 or TX 9, it's a noticeable jump I think. The W70 I don't know if it has a bug, every time I set the date it never gets imprinted.

HHT is specifically designed and intended to not require any support - fully hand-holdable. Of course, within reason - it doesn't mean to have Muhammad Ali taking the shot while riding a cart on a cobblestone street on a moonless rural night. There are limitations! But making a reasonable attempt to hold still while shooting, you can fairly easily handhold 1/8 shutters with steadyshot, and the HHT mode will nicely align the 6 frames.

Panorama mode too is handholdable - just follow the sweep direction on screen at a normal pace while attempting to stay level horizontally, and the camera will do the stitching. Just remember though, pano mode won't work real well in low light.

LOL!! That it's a good think to know! On the other hand, I think Muhammad Ali would charge a lot of money for taking my photos, so I don't think I would hire him for this task anyway :)

It'd be great if the TX series could do a 6 shoots HDR hand held!! wow! Sony I want mine now! Of course it'd have to do some kind of auto-tone mapping. . .
