Is there a way to increase the brightness of the D200 viewfinder? The readout is too faint when I wear sunglasses... I haven't been able to find a setting in the manual.

... I want to increase the brightness of the viewfinder LEDs.

The LEDs of an FM2 are Just Right; the D200 is barely bright enough even without sunglasses...

In my opinion if you wear sunglasses during photography than why bother about the LED information? I mean, it's difficult to judge the light and the exposure through sun glasses, so why don't you take them off for the shot?

that would be too easy and simple ... the op just want to read the exposure!

saludos.

... If it was just One Shot. But that won't work during a long day shooting outdoors in bright sunlight.

(Prior to using DSLRs with their rather dim LED viewfinder readouts I did not have a problem judging light and setting exposure for 20+ years...)

Oh Well, I was hoping that there was a hidden setting that I was missing.

Could be your choice of sunglasses.

A style that blocks light from above and most light coming from the sides and below will enable your eyes to adjust to darker conditions.

I can see the D200 viewfinder readout fine with such sunglasses.
