need something to fit the 60D ...like an F4 35-150 or 50-200 F4 or even 3.5 to 4.5 but there is nothing fast, sharp, light in the range..by any maker !!
ie. Under 25 oz
faster than 5.6
sharper than a regular consumer grade

something like the 70-200 f4 downsized for a 1.6 cropper. Where is it ??????????

But feel free to search used for the EF 50-200 f/3.5-4.5L. ;)

At 695g (24.5 oz.) it even meets your weight limit.

Probably because the 24-105 f/4 and 70-200 f/4 are close to these ranges; Sigma also makes a 50-150. The lenses you ask for would be redundant.

not to me. Sig is usually soft. sold the 24-105 not long enough. start at 70 is too long.

just get a full frame or 1.3 crop camera and leave the rest of us alone ;^)

That lens is so popular that people will buy a whole camera just to have it. It should meet all your requirements!

Well - why not try the 50-150 2.8 from Sigma? It's smaller, cheaper and lighter than the 70-200 f4 (I think). And it's 2.8, which means better focusing in low light and shallower depth of field if you want it.

What do you mean fast f4 by the way? f4 isn't that "fast" at all....

the AF is very slow. Anyone have experience to compare with newer lenses ? But they also say it's very sharp, and not expensive.

55-250 IS

Both fairly good lenses with brilliantly fast AF.

Given up on the whole "regain my original ID". Seems DPR don't give a flying fucher

Someone posts the same question every month. The 55-250 is better than I expected (I just broke down and got one), but 55mm is a bit long at times. A 30-150mm lens would be more useful. Not sure how heavy a F4 version would be. Maybe it would be F4.5 or F5 to keep size and cost down.

They are waiting for your pre-order then they will make one. but while waiting for it, I would just jump into the 24-105 + 70-200 F4 and call it a day.
