S200EXR: Tunisia

Back from a week's holiday in Tunisia and I'm just done converting about 400 raw files.
Here are some samples...

On the way there. Got a little carried away in CS4... :)

Andreas these are lovely, but these two appeal to me the most.

RAW? were these then at full resolution? Well done and you've more patience than I.

I agree FPS give better results than S7RAW, at least with my S6000fd I've found the same to be true.

Nightfly, you should be excited by those wonderful images - they seem to be "just right" - a very special place where photos are not overdone and false yet retain that "wow" factor, mainly through exceptional composition. In my opinion you have succeeded in spades! I am very envious.

Stand proud - you deserve to.
Thank you for your kind words, Bruce! I think I'm just more critical about my own photography than about others'. On the other hand, that's one prerequisite to getting better.

I think it is rather normal to have many shots and only a few will turn out speacial. At the time when we see things we have far more senses going and it gives us the impression that the situation is speacial (which is to us) but when you see the photo later you miss this remaining senses.
That's true, I fully agree.

Thanks a lot, Lili!

The cloud shot was actually one of about 20 jpegs. Forgot to switch to raw.

The one inside the Ribat was raw and EXR-DR, so it's half-res. Before I went, I did a couple of test shots to compare P and EXR-DR modes with raw. In analogy to shooting jpeg I thought EXR-DR should be a binning mode and thus deliver more fine detail. I found that to be true.

Unfortunately, EXR-DR doesn't get faster than 1/500s which limits its usability. I had to use P for almost all outside shots. The light conditions were so gruelling, most of the shots were at f/8 and between 1/680s and 1/1600s.
Well done and you've more patience than I.
Oh I can tell you this was a real test for my patience...

Isn't the S6000 supported by ACR? If so, that should save you some pain.

Nightfly these are terrific. You have an excellent eye and the s200 in raw definitely compliments your ability to pick a shot, well done!

This is one magnificent series. Great job all the way.

Glad you had such a lovely trip.

Kind regards, Gary N W SFO
Thank you, Gary!

FPS must be much better on the PC than the Mac. It is totally unusable on the Mac. Us poor Mac users suffer so much!
