I have just noticed I have no camera profiles in camera RAW 6.1. They were in CS4.

I thought they were loaded automatically with the camera RAW installation.

I can't find a separate download on the Adobe website.

Can anyone help me please?

Did you check the box "Enable Lens profile corrections? Also they are mostly Canon and Nikon profiles but you can use manual mode. What lens are you using?

and think that I was nuts.

In Camera RAW under the Camera Calibration tab, you should see the profiles available for the camera used in that shot in the Camera profile menu.

To Tom: you're referring to lense profiles - they are a different thing

Hi Robert,

That is what I used to see in CS4, 32 & 64 bit versions.

In both versions of CS5 I only have Adobe 4.4 & Adobe 3.3.

The adobe website says they are installed automatically with Camera Raw. This was not the case with me.

I have not installed the DNG converter that came with Camera Raw 6.1. Are the profiles in there?

Could someone please check their copy of CS5 & see is the camera profiles are there?

I have solved my problem.

The profiles are in the DNG converter download & install automatically with the converter itself. I had not bothered installing this.

Seems an odd place to put them. I would have expected them to be separate or in the main Camera Raw exe.

Anyway, problem solved.

Couldn't locate them earlier, but I've found the now. Windows 7 / CS5 64 bit:
C > ProgramData > Adobe > CameraRAW > CameraProfiles > Adobe Standard
has the adobe standard profiles for all supporte cameras
C > ProgramData > Adobe > CameraRAW > CameraProfiles > Camera
has subfolders for cameras for which profiles like camera faithfull exist

extension is .dcp

I have just updated to Camera RAW 6.3 & my picture profiles have gone again!

I have installed the DNG converter 6.3 but the picture profiles have failed to appear.

Have Adobe moved them again?

Any help will be much appreciated.

On my Windows XP Pro system I see them in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles"

On My Windows 7 Pro system I see them in "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles"

Sorry, red faces all around here!

The shots I was looking at were taken with my Nikon P6000 which is not supported with profiles in camera RAW. I am used to using my Nikon DSLR's which are supported.

My confusion was caused by the fact that the profiles for all cameras appear in the Nikon software that I also use.

I think I am getting too old for this! Another couple of hours of my life I will never see again.................
