Maybe its me but I'm new to the M9 ownership, I notice that the lcd screen get messy so easily!! any mark from your skin, fingers and you have to rub it off, otherwise you can't see anything!

Canon and Nikon screens don't seem to have this problem.

Don't get me wrong I love the camera, but this is annoying!!

Anyone else have this problem?

you better believe it!

i am left-handed with the left leading eye. every time i look in a viewfinder, my nose leaves a print on a camera screen :)

the reason why DSLR screens do not get messy that easily is simple: LCD is further away from the viewfinder. one of the biggest advantages of rangefinder design, i.e. compactness, actually comes as a shortcoming in this instance :)

Yes but I have tested with my 5D and a friends D700 and the screen does not seem to leave such a smeer.

I too am left handed so my left eye is the one I use. Your right though being totally flat the back will show up more marks, but on testing with the toher two camera Leica's lcd shows up more marks than Canon or Nikon, it must be down to the material used for the screen. Perhaps a cover would help?
I'm going to try something out as its driving me crazy!

Regarding the LCD screen, most members in here are apologetic, even though everyone knows the LCD screen is complete substandard.

A few bucks more and better quality would have been available.

Also, the M9's price is calculated on wrong predictions. They sell twice as much as anticipated - so Leica earns double the amount?!

In the not to faraway future expect an upgraded M9 with minor design improvements, such as a better LCD screen.

Meanwhile try to de-oil your nose.
