Progress at Foveon --- finally Video on their list

I am as critical as I have ever been, I just dont feel the need to post critique here all the time since I learned to use the right tools at the right time.

I love the Foveon IQ, that doesn´t keep me from using my 5D MkII when it is better suited for the job. It is for quite some stuff, and so is the Foveons.
Wisniewski saw video back then on the SD9 chip-
back then, when Guenther used to be much more critical:

Same for me.Just got an old 1Ds converted to IR.Nice addition to my tools.

No riddle. Foveon showed video of outstanding quality to the trade. By all accounts, it was extraordinary stuff as it logically should be.

Now of course, you will wonder why no one picked that up. Good question. And one I am pretty sure no one will answer on this or any other forum.

Suffice it to say that there are plenty of forces moving in this market other than pure quality.
You should have been at PMA in 2004.
What happened there?
FoveonVideo??

that was before I became Gene Hack ;-)
so Joseph was right!

How large was the resolution?
Was it an internal demo or public?

And rarely has been.

The demo was for the trade only.

I think the problem is processing speed. For 1080p @25 FPS the camera engine should be capable to process over 50 megapixels per second. I have no idea how fast the True II is (it can be estimated by simple experiment), but I expect it can be 5 megapixels per second at the best...

I am no video freak so I am only guessing here, but I see two problems for Sigma.

1. The video chips that you can buy are for Bayer CFA. So - you have to make your own video chips. And I dont mean the sensor chip - I mean the actual video logic. This sounds expensive.

2. The amount of data needed to transfer to get competitive video rates is lots! I would be surprised if they can provide that data rate.
