No happy X-DRIVE users?

I would like to let all who would like to hear good news about the x-drive that it works great for me on my two week trip to Cyprus. I shot almost 3000 pictures. I at several times I had to download the mircodrive while holding it in my hand driving down the road. It took about 20 minutes to transfer a full microdive to the x-drive. I can only say that after returning from my trip I was less than impresed with all the pictures. What I am trying to say is I got caught up in the fact that I had a D100, 1gb microdrive and a 40gb x-drive. I think that it was a personal compatetion to shoot as many pictures as I could. It was a pain to look at them all. Now that I trust my equipment I plan on taking my time and composing my pictures with a little more thought....

Do a search on each storage device and you'd find each their own unhappiness.

So far, I've been unlucky once but at least I find out now than later.... still under trial period.
is it only unlucky XDrive users who is writing in this forum
ore is the Xdrive simply not working ?

I can only chime in on the posivtives. I bought an X-drive a couple of weeks ago. I bought it with no hard drive, as I had a old 10 GB laptop drive lying around. I got it up and running after some grief (OK, I forgot to remove the NTFS partition and partition/format the hard drive as a FAS32 drive). Once I figured that out everything been working really well.

I bring it with me whenever I shoot Sport (my son plays basketball). during the breaks I copy me 512MB Viking card on to it. Actually, I shove the CF card it there and leave it while shooting with another CF card when I come back the X-drive has turned itself off after having copied the content of the CF card onto the drive. When I come home I hook the X-drive up, copy everthing over to my desktop PC.

I would say that my X-drive works very well, and I have no reason to complain.

Couldn't agree more. People write about the problems they have (me included) not about the positives.

Maybe I'm lucky this time. Mine seems to work fine!

I shot 300 pictures this Sunday at a local Hot Rod Show. I used my IBM 1 GB Microdrive and two 512 MB Ridata CF cards. Downloaded all the images to my 40GB X-drive. I had no corrupt files. Zero! I am shooting with a D60 and always format my memory cards after every use through my firewire reader and my PC.

Yarc saw all the RAW images and converted them - no problem.
