I entered a challenge last week and all was fine. Tried to enter into a few last night and the way to enter a photo had changed since last time. I choose the upload option and it just sits there saying preparing to upload. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Happened to me last night as well, each time I cancelled it and tried to reload, but on one multiple attempt the photo ended up in my gallery automatically every time so I deleted the duplicates and entered a challenge direct from the gallery upload instead which worked fine, if you are still having problems try uploading to your gallery then using the option to enter a challenge directly from there, alternatively maybe try clearing your browser cache, open a fresh page and try again [ not tried that myself but would have been my next step if the gallery route had'nt worked ]

I just made two tries at at uploading a photo for a challenge using the new entry screens and had no luck. I got no response when I "clicked" within the frame where it prompted.

I do not want to establish a gallery here so am not interested in that work around. I'll try again tomorrow and also look here again for help if it doesn't work.

Hi, did you try clearing your browser cache ?

Re the gallery, I'm not interested in having one either but its what worked for me, galleries can be set to private if that helps, also maybe trythe workaround then delete the image from the gallery - not sure if that would disruot it being seen in a challenge but worth a try if only to be able to give feedback to others with the same problem ?

Forgot to mention in one case after trying several times cancelling upload then re-trying I spotted a post somewhere on here suggesting closing the window altogether then opening a new one to try again, that worked for me also. Still think browser cache clearing is a logical step in any case.

Its appreciated that admin are giving us what is a nice easy way to enter challenges, when it works it works well, but a shame admin have'nt acknowledged at least that people are having problems [ unless I've missed it ? ], it would be good to know that they know we are having problems and to give reassurance that they are aware of it and are working on it or to list strategies to try in one place rather than several threads popping up which could be missed quite easily :-/

I had exactly your same experience today. In fact, a few days ago, I entered w/o issue only to discover today that my entered images are also in my gallery. So, it seems that any entry is automatically added to your gallery.

Question: What do you do all week?
Answer: Mon to Fri. Nothing, Sat & Sun I rest!

I cleared the cache of Google Chrome, my browser, and also tried other things like turning off Avast security and re-starting the browser and the computer all with no better results at trying to submit a photo for the challenge. I got the same result (of stalling with no response) at the "Select image to upload" screen.

Then I closed Chrome and tried Internet Explorer 8. This worked fine at the same upload screen and my upload and entry was successful. IE 8 is not a solution I like, but I guess it'll have to do for now.

After the effort above I was notified Adobe Flash Player had an update which I allowed. Seems a lot of new stuff on this site works with flash technology so I wonder if the update will change things for Chrome and the challenge entry procedure. I hope so as I really like Google Chrome and dislike IE 8. Maybe a setting in Chrome would "fix" it, but that's something I haven't tried to discover as one of the nicest things about Chrome is usually works well with me having to know little about it!
