... Quick question. I've never used Bibble. Does it make a 'major' difference ?

Cheers.
It is good software, but most likely does the basically the same functions as any other good photo editing software packages. So, so I guess it depends on what you are using.

It probably wouldn't make a major difference for you, as you most likely are using fairly advanced editing software.

My computer's operating system is linux, so Bibblepro initially got my attention because it can run on linux or windows. I tested it out to deal with my D50's raw file conversions, and subsequent post processing (I wanted a good all in one program). I have been very happy with it - it is fast and has all of the PP functions that I need. And for processing a lot of images (which I don't do), then it has some good batch processing features in it as well.

It also had a one click "Perfectly Clear" button which, when it works, really makes an image pop. The perfectly clear option is hit or miss with the D50 raw files, but it is always a miss with the F70's jpeg files. So with the F70 files I can't be as lazy, and I play around with the normal editing functions.

Wet the New Zealand way

... Thanks for that.

Just downloaded the Pro 5 trial and played around. Looks promising.

The 'Perfectly Clear' button did a good job on the HS-10 images I played with. Better results than 'auto' in ACR. Will play some more tomorrow.

Cheers.

Glad you found them amusing, here are some that show off New Zealands colors.

All good, but that third one of the fishing poles in the boat is stupendous. Really, really nice. I love the scene and the colors. Passes the 'makes me wish I'd been there' test.

..... contrast New Zealand to dear old England where there are warning signs not to approach the locals too closely;-)

I forgot about these pics I took in Bermuda a few short weeks ago....

They are very narrow pier like structures that run down the beach and into the ocean, they are probably there to prevent side wash from eating away at the beach.

Excellent! I have the old version 4, so I'll automatically be envious if you get and keep version 5 ;)

They must have gotten Perfectly Clear functioning in version 5 just recently (that was one item that they were working on). The one thing that I had to watch out for with PC was blown highlights. But when it didn't produce blown highlights, and when it didn't muck with the colors in a bizarre way, it really added pop. The "highlight recovery" and "fill light" tools can also be amazingly helpful if you are shooting raw. Good luck!

Awesome Midwest - I'm happy the image conveyed how I was feeling at the time :)

And imagine how I would have felt if we had actually caught a beautiful Spring! Next time...

... Thanks again. Just a quick point I saw on the Bibble site :

" ... Bibble 4 Pro & Lite customers who purchased after Sept 1st, 2006 are entitled to a free upgrade to Bibble 5. To get your free upgrade, simply Log In to your account with the same email address you originally purchased with ... "

It may fit your purchase dates.

Cheers.
