Travelling to the Island is not an easy task and both Santiago and Pascua are covered with clouds today :(

Is there a later version than 2.97 of the freeware and where can one download it?

What a pity. Same happened to me some years ago as well. The eclipse was impressive anyway. But one real fascinating thing one is missing when the sky is covered with clouds: the quick appearance of the moon's shadow shortly before the sun is covered completely. I'd travel somewhere to see that one day but actually the Island was a little too far for a weekend trip, as well :-)

I appear to have 2.98 but I got that 2 years ago.

Maybe you could write to him. His address in Vancouver is out on the web. His site Panopeeper is still up and doesn't expire until next year. Cryptobola only expired last month, maybe he just forgot to renew.

Sadly, I've received word that GaborSch passed away a few months back.

He was a great photographer and one of the leading authorities in the field of digital capture. He will be deeply missed.

A shame that his software, the work he put into it, may disappear with his passing away. It would be a nice legacy to the man if his software could be maintained and further developed in his honor.
