Canon obviously didnt want to innovate and come up with
a superior product. They just wanted to use a g2 with a few minor

changes so they dont need to revamp their assembly lines and spend money on R&D. They are trying to peddle this camera to naive buyers.
If sony memory sticks were cheaper Sony would pick up a majority of the
marketshare.

Only Canon would try to sell cheap outdated cameras. Canon
should go out of business for producing this junk!
 
Well maybe Canon should hire you since your logic and intelligence is far superior to that of their entire R&D and marketing departments.

The words I have for you wouldn't be welcome on this forum, but I think you have a rough idea what they'd be.

Canon's success speaks for itself, and the G3 will be a strong competitor in the marketplace.

Wow, words of wisdom. I can't say I'll take your advice, as I'm buying the G3 as soon as it's available.
 
lol, TROLL term is something new... I just started to see it's being used a lot. What exactly it means?

The origin of the term is fishing--it's a technique in which the fisherman trails a baited line off the boat, to see who will swallow the bait.

But a troll is also a big monster that lives under a bridge in folktales...

Thanks. I thought that it meant obnoxious or something as that is what the folk tales suggest. So, it is possible to be a troll without being obnoxious.

Would an abnoxious and uncouth Troll be qualified to be called an ass troll?

There are a few trollers on Usenet who are not totally obnoxious--they have a certain charm in their looniness, in fact. In at least one newsgroup, the regulars play games by posting obvious trolls just to catch the unwary.

But yes, in general troll-merchants are obnoxious.

AFAIK, there are millions of satisfied naive users - including me! You should get your hands on a Canon G* for a while and then post your true opinion, instead of trolling.

It´s incredible how Sony is such a smart company but it´s not picking "the majority of the marketshare" because of it´s storage media, the easiest part to fix ??!! - of course not ! Although all the efforts Sony has done to improve their cameras, they will always be behind the competition from Canon, Nikon or Olympus. Hey man - that´s decades of experience - don´t under estimate that!

Yep! that´s what have always intrigued me ... junk products produce great pictures, great products produce junk pictures - I will choose first :-)

Not necessarily. To me the definition of a troll is a posting of something provocative in order to suck the easily wound up into an argument.

So you can bash something without being obnoxious, and suck a whole lot of people (zealots?) into the party with stout defences of their beliefs.

I suppose some people would argue the act of trolling is obnoxious in itself. But if you're talking about the content of the post then a troll is simply a windup merchant. The obnoxious part, while there may be some correlation, is entirely seperate and optional.

The best defence against trolls is silence. They want you to reply, get worked up. That's why they do it.

Note I am replying to the "what is a troll?" thing, not the original troll :)

Troll is the most normal (really existing) creature deep in the Norwegian Forrests and on top of the Norwegian mountains: This page depicting Trolls is Danish - but Trolls do not really live in Denmark, beacuse they dont have any naturall forrest left- or mountains.

Everybody wandering in the forrest of Norway has seen Trolls. And any Norwegian child can tell you about them. And a very many norwegian (norse) Fairytales contain stories about Trolls. And yes: trolls can eat you, and they will try to get hold of you be enticing you (as the Troll under the bridge did).

Tom Fishel strikes me as the sort of person who would have trouble ad libbing a fart after a baked bean dinner...
 
funny, that's how i always felt about the g2 - it's the same as the g1 with a few tweaks.

sony WILL do great soon. as they plan to release 4 gig versions of the stick. though it will still take a year or two. i'm really hoping canon is designing something great. the advancements really don't impress me much.
