I just noted that the link to my pet picture isn't working, as is the case with several links from others on this thread. I hope Slug can fix the problem without requiring pbase members resubmit to replace the corrupted files. I've reloaded the dog pic I tried to post when I started this thread.

Submissions from all discontinued Coolpix models are welcome, Jim. The point is to show they are still excellent and that you don't need to dump them and buy the latest whizbang to capture great pictures. Besides, the 800 is just a 950 that's had the swivel removed. Good to see you've passed your photographic genes to your son. It's really neat to share a hobby with your kid.

This was taken with my 995... before I became one of the new digicam owners and found my 995 a new home.... snif .. I still miss it but it's happy with it's new owner ....

Yep, I bought my 995 some months ago, but had to send it to get repaired almost immediately after. So when the new ones came out I still hadn't had a chance to explore the cameras capabilities yet! It's a wonderful camera, and with the accessory lenses I've gotten it's even moreso! Plus those wonderful lenses snug right up to my 800 as well, so I think I'm set for awhile lol. This post is a fabulous idea!

I guess the 5700 is OK, but it doesn't swivel.
