Very nice. In the first one, I would have cropped it vertical and shown the entire head.Comments please.
The camera was on Velvia/Vivid, but still the picture got soft. That was luck (no intention) on my side.Lovely lighting and soft colors! Love the second one most![]()

Thanks for your input. It's great to see how other people look at a picture. You are right, I wanted to emphasize the goats face by reducing everything else. The green in the top annoyed me a bit. On the other hand the vertical crop actually grows on me as it follows the head's symmetry. Here is another crop:Re the 1st one, that's about all you could do if you found the green bg distracting.
The horizontal crop is more artistic to me than the vertical you showed later. Perhaps a tighter vertical crop so the head still reaches the top rather than the horns and the green. That would leave little flanks of green in the upper corners, the symmetry could be nice, but could be distracting. Also, I think the horns detract from this image.
Thanks again for the discussion. For me the symmetry of having the head in the center is what I actually like in the picture. Here is a crop shifted to the left. I do not prefer it.I like it! I'd play with nudging the head off center further one way or another. Anyway...it's a heckuva shot, you did a good job.
