His blog hasn't been updated since May 21. Maybe he's out trying to get the 645D set up for sale here in the USA! 8o)

Well, a lot of people take a break from their normal activities at this time of the year....

Probably somewhere and not wanting to be bothered, maybe enjoying himself with a nice FF camera and lots of ISO and DR?

Taking time off prior to digging into development of the US marketing strategies and budgets for the products to be announced at photokina.

As soon as the nice people in Shinjuku tell him what they are ....

Ned was in NYC for the opening of the Pentax Boutique at Willoughby's

I saw some 40+ images from ???

??? not sure whose blog

of the event.

Looked like fun.

That playboy bunny from Housewives of NYC was there, her hubby too.

I saw a pic of Ned and her, but I forget where its posted.

Ned's probably in Japan striking a deal to bring some 645D here in USA:

"by October"

Maybe Pentax will open a Pentax Boutique somewhere in Colorado and I'll by visit.

Probably there are others as well, but Yvon Bourque's blog has some pictures from that event with Ned and JohnC:

Oddly, though thankfully, the Pentax site doesn't even list Willoughby's as a dealer. That should save at least some people from the awful Willoughby's experience.

If you go there it sure doesn't look like an official anything except a typical bait and switch tourist store.

I have gotten good prices from them in the past ordering from their Amazon web store. No bait and switch or anything. I can't comment on their actual store.

my experience buying from them back in the late 80's, very bad salesmen.

rude and unprofessional. back then they were on 6th ave and 31st street near penn station. not sure if they're still in the same location or have changed salesmen :)

I'm sure their act via Amazon would have to be fairly together. They'd ax them at the first complaint.

But if you ask any NYer about the store you'll get an earful. When I'd go there in the '60s it was a combination of a huge photographer's wonderland (probably the only one of it's kind) and a shyster's den. It really was the place to go then, but if you stood around long enough you could always hear a salesperson pushing an obsolete piece on some poor guy for twice what it was worth. Even in it's heyday there was plenty of that. Then it was bought and sold several times over the decades. Until the "Pentax Boutique" thing I hadn't thought about the place in ages. The store is barely above the level of the Times Square electronics stores, with their bobblehead dolls and Yankees hats.
