Selection of pictures of my home town Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, UK. The Ex1 has become addictive; it is just so much fun to use

You have captured your beautiful scenery quite well. You're off to a flying start. Well done!

All the best,

Photographers take pictures, not cameras.

Thankyou James for your kind words.

Brilliant framing, I love the scenery you have in your location, and the EX1 delivers such realistic images that are a pleasure to look at.

Thank you for the complement Richard. Looking at your postings I must say your images with the Ex1 are among the best

Thanks everyone for your replies and kind words. As pointed out by Alexromos who said ‘dynamic range looks very good’, yes I agree. The Ex1 excels in d/r especially in one of the manual modes with some –ev.

For my northern neighbour Cailean Gallimore one more landscape. Bamburgh Castle on a grey wet miserable day.

For me, the word "landscape" conjures up some peaceful vista with hills and trees--pleasant but b-o-o-oring. Your pictures avoid this, by having some focus of interest in each picture: a light, people, etc. Well done!

Thanks once again for your kind words Bob. Question- If an adapter and filters were available for the Ex1, would you use them. ?

The only filter I might use would be a polarizer, but I'm not desparate for it. Two more accessories to carry would seem to defeat the purpose of a small digicam.

Some excellent "landscape" shots here, and Robert-

Regarding filters, such as a polorizer, the lens inscription on the EX-1 does not show a filter size. Do you know what size it is?

You see I am somewhat handicapped as I am A Mac user, and the DC that came with the EX-1 that contains the owners manual is only for PC's. That came as quite a disappointment, and has left me sort of bumbling around.

No, but I've seen some photos that someone took with the EX1 where he just held a polarizer agains the front of the lens. They looked OK, but there was no comparison of with vs. without filter.

I understand that the Samsung/Silkypix RAW conversion software is available only for PC now. Not a huge loss, in my opinion. I don't use it or any orther Samsung-supplied software. I'm waiting for Adobe (and, even better, DxO) to support the EX1. I hadn't realized that the User Manual is not availble in a Mac-compatible format. That's unforgivable. Is there no conversion utilility? Failing that, can you get a friend who has a PC print out the User Manual? It can be found at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2591259/SAMSUNG%20EX1-UserManual.pdf

I am a Mac user also. I live in New Jersey and my TL500 came with the owners manuel in disc form, but it plays on my Mac with no problem. I got my camera 2 weeks ago and am slowly learning by trial and error.
