We Olympus 4/3rds owners used to easily get in a dither ( used to being the operative word ) about the lack of this or that WA or prime 4/3rds lenses: but the truth is today there are enough Zuiko lenses to satisfy everyone-unrepentant malcontents; cross-over and CaNikon shooters noted.
Besides, we can shoot 11 "legacy" lens mounts with adapters.

Noooooo....
Did you forget "we" don't have that magic 400/5.6 equivalent? :D

I agree completely, 43rds is easily the most complete and sensible system on the market with no bad film-era lenses.

Sure Canon FF has huge selection of lenses, but you've got to take into an account that cheapest FF camera costs 2500$ €, and APS systems are not nearly well designed as 43rds.

How are those fast primes coming along any 12mm f1.4 or 42mm f1.2 or tse etc . . . . . .? Every positive post here is incomplete without a dig at Canon or Nikon, and believe me that get’s just as tiresome as the trolling posts do. And perhaps the constantly posted pro Olympus posts which contradict common sense are a major reason why these threads attract such fierce criticism.

What does the Olympus 300mm f2.8 come in at ? It is between £5600 and £6000 here in the UK . Thats the same price as for example a D3x + a 300mm f4

Yet another useless, let's pat each other on the backs thread. Good work.

If I ever decide to jump ship from Olympus, not being associated with such a way of thinking would be the only reason.

"Look, we're not that bad !!!". "Look, there IS a professional using Olympus !!!". "Look, we have that too !!!". Poodle yap if I've seen any.

We are missing Tilt/Shift-lens....

Are we back to saying that f2.8 on an Olympus lens is the same as f4 on a Nikon then?

Jim
I never said that at all ,I was just giving an example of what that kind of money buys, there is a post here every day about how much FF costs.

You're not comparing like with like. You might just as well have said that that kind of money buys 10,000 cans of baked beans!

using camera price buster a Nikon 300mm/2.8 VR is roughly £2,000 cheaper than the Olympus 300mm/2.8, seems a fair comparison.

:), could I make those mushy peas? What about a D300s + a D90 + a 300mm f2.8 +a 1.4 TCE does that seem fairer. Add the teleconvertor lose the APS noise advantage, so output will be much the same, same magnification . And the small matter of two cameras included in the price

Well, there is a lack of prime lenses. I would love a 9 or 10 mm prime lens that offers full functionality (most importantly auto-aperture). I would also love a really fast 40 or 50 mm lens for a bright viewfinder in low-light shooting. I would also like a 200 mm f/2.8 lens.
but the truth is today there are enough Zuiko lenses to satisfy everyone-
That's simply not true. It depends on your needs and wants.

Sure, malcontents do exist, but not everyone who requires specific gear falls into that lovely group of people.

Depending on what you shoot, this may or may not work for you. For example, I love street shooting. I use my 35 mm SLR with a 20 mm lens for that purpose simply because there's no 10 mm prime lens for my Oly. It's not about AF, which I don't need with such a short focal length, but it's about having auto-aperture and a bright viewfinder.

It's not like you need autofocus for this sort of photography anyway...
