please do me the honor (gallery)

thanks.

the light that day could have been better, it would have changed a lot i think.

this time of year is very pretty here.

here is my backyard last week too (sorry they are in the center!):

Overall nice but IMO most are too soft especially the distant ones. I forgot to look at the exif but are you using a small aperture to bring the distant in focus. The barn shot and the other closeups are great but the others seem fuzzy to me. Please don't cry I am not being meant just trying to help. LOL

that is helpful, jeff. do you think it was the late afternoon light that makes it soft? or the settings?

interestingly, i can never seem to get a sharp shot at a far zoom. i use a c-700. i learned here that i need to use a tripod :)

the following set was taken prior to this. the shots were all just fun experiments. some came out great others, ok. but the natural sunlight that day was much better.

Another C700 owner, eh? :-)

I'm a novice myself, so don't take my comments too seriously.

The "Mercer Museum in Fall" pic has some massive CA (chromatic aberration). That's the purplish hazing where the sky meets the building and trees. CA is typically a bad thing and it's really apparent in this pic. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to prevent it. I know some people remove it with Photoshop. The "The Willow" pic also has some CA.

I like "Hold On" the best.

Some nice shots you have there.

We don't live too far from Doylestown where you shot the Mercer Miuseum and the Michner Library. I also recognised Folly Rd.

My inlaws (and sister in law) all live in Doylestown, my wife and all of my sisters in law work in Doylestown. We live in Quakertown.

i live in d-town township by the barn plaza theater. my mom lives off folly road.

my inlaws live by you, in west rockhill, and my husband took my kids to the Q-mart last weekend :)

it is a small world!

yeah, i noticed too. does anyone know why i get this a lot & how to stop it?

i cannot afford photoshop, i have photosuite. i have no external filters either.

interesting take on that, rich. i guess maybe that was what drew me to the subjects, even without me noticing. there is much diacotomy like that here. many of the old farmers sold their land for half-mil homes.

many staunch ones stayed. many live well, but choose keep the charm of older times.

the haves and the have-nots live side by side.
Very pleassant views of what looks like a slow and easy life, but
was hard for many to live...somehow though I wonder if they felt
better when the rested in the evening.

sweetjane,

Nice. Some interesting compositions and ideas. I like the diversity of subjects and how you framed them.

IMHO, here are some suggestions:

1. Maybe it's my monitor, but some of the colors could be more saturated.

2. The shed and barn looked interesting, did you take any shots inside? They can be cool.

3. Hold On-what does it look like vertical?

Thanks for sharing!
