Nikon 18-200 VR lens

I received the replacement part for the rubber ring for my 18-200 vr lens (see picture above) but I noticed that the rubber does not come with an adhesive at the back where I can just peel and apply. Anybody can suggest a type of adhesive to use?

Could be more answers on the Nikon SLR lens forum; I bet several people there have glued stuff on their lenses.

might be tight enough that you don't need glue?
But, if it isn't, I'd use a VERY thin layer of plain old contact cement.

I have had the rubber ring on mine changed two times. But both times were done at the nikon service center. Why dont you call nikon and ask. Im sure they will answer this simple question.
