Sorry gang been busy watching all the football matches - and trying to get a bit of work done - when possible ;-) I've had an idea for a while now - so now's a good time to air it. Over the past few years, I have seen pictures in the forum that have either tugged at the heart strings, or the laughter lines. So if there's a picture you would like to see again - but can't remember who posted it, or when it was posted - give a quick description here - and hopefully the person who posted it, will post it again in this thread. Oh, and explain why that particular picture appeals to you!

I'll kick off with my choices:

1. Lucy's Halloween pic of the two masked kids running, with shadows, I think it was taken with the C-2100

2. Digiram's "Robot comes to the city."

3. Larry Lynch's (or it may have been Joe Trimarchi) recent pic of the small dog baring its sharp pointy teeth at the big dog.

So - help me out Lucy/digi/Larry

AH, that's a good idea. I'll start off by showing my past pictures of the robot. I took this last autumn in Portland, Oregon along the Willamette River. Maybe later, I'll think of photos that others took that were memorable and mention them. Right now, I'm going to take off to take pictures this morning...hopefully the clouds will part away and give us a little sun.

Enjoy the football games...some work...and a few photos too. :)

i liked the one of the little girl and the station master and the ice cream seller in the outdoor performance at antwerp? station put up by rolf/roel? (the little girl was a passerby who got caught up in the play)

the whole concept of this really appealed to me and the gallery of photos (not just those onthis forum) were well worht a look)

there should be some capacity to bookmark those sort of things shouldn't there ...

hope all is well with you and good luck in the soccer and the rest of the cricket ... but is it england or portugal that you will barrack for? :-}}

regards david

... is from the first Red Bull series that CC photographed - one of the planes clipping a pylon.

Thanks Digi - these stick out for me - though I can't really explain why. I think it was a combination of the title and the photos. The interaction of the robot with the guy in the 2nd picture is priceless!

It must have been Joes dog photo... I haven't posted any dog shots for a few months.. (and none that I can remember with more than one dog).

It wasn't my photo. I remember it but not who posted it.

I haven't been around here all that long, and my memory for specific photos isn't brilliant, but certainly a shot that comes to mind is Dave Gaines' "Passing Through the Keyhole," which appeared in OTF Challenge #73. It stands out for its management of difficult light, overall composition, and its thoughtful theme, which played off tiny human figures against Man's artistic and engineering achievements.

As a body of work, I find the greatest personal resonance in Fatima's images, which so often sow seeds for thought and imagination.

Thanks for the requests and discussions so far. I guess what we need is for the requests to be read by the target person so they can post their pic again. This might be the difficult part though ;-)

So come on Joe Lynch, Lucy, Roel, CC, fatima etc...please read!! :-)

It isn't all that impressive, but I'll tell you the story behind it.....

You see, I took this shot first, on a Friday evening....

I thought 'hey, I like that', posted it and instead of getting the 'high five's' I expected, I had fellow forum members tell me how to improve my shot. So the next morning, I went out with my list of things to do and got the first shot.

I guess that's why I like it so much. It embodies for me the spirit of what this forum should be about. And it was shot with my much under rated C-5060.

Thanks for posting this again CC - talk about clicking at just the right moment! Many of us forget that its not simply the clean, crisp, shot that makes a shot - timing plays a very important role - especially in action shots like this one.

..and the improvement is there to see. By taking on board tips/suggestions, you benefitted and learnt quickly. And just as importantly, you passed on your knowledge - so that around 5 years a go when I was trying to get daffodils to look like daffodils (instead of yellow blobs), you came to the rescue! :-)

Hear hear! Even when the forum is running a little slow, we can always rely on someone to chime in with help and advice.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for joining in.

Like you I learned a lot from this forum. I remembered posting a question on the SLR forum when I first got my E-500 and instead of helping me some of them just told me to go read the manual. I discovered to this forum when I read the story of how the members of this forum offered the E-1 to Marn and since then I never leave this forum...well lately my new house keeps me very busy fixing it up and keeps me away :)
