Bird was just too fast

i was going through my pile of recent sparrow shots again and noticed that this one was (I think) all motion blur at 1/1000 of a second, since it looks like he's in the right focal spot... quick bird.. needed 1/2000 I suppose....

pretty amazing what you can do with the 50-200 and EC 1.4

i actually like it when there's a bit of motion blurr in the wings and the rest of the body is still. I guess focusing was very challenging in the first shot, since some of the foliage was closer to the camera than was the sparrow. Very well done!

also it's impressive how sharp this combo is, in particular the 2nd shot...

I think your timing was perfect, maybe a shorter time wouldn't look so nice.
