Looking to get a primary camera just for events and etc. Already own a canon, Canon SD 300. Preferably looking to get one with a decent zoom, decent in lowlight, IS, and night mode.
Not for DSLR type as they are far more expensive then what I want to spend.

Looking at spending under 300$ CA.

Narrowed down to the following three:

Fuji Finepix JZ310
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W310
Canon PowerShot A490

Would appreciate any more info on which of the above three might be the best to get. And possibly suggestions on any that maybe better, in terms of zoom, Night mode, and IS.

I have posted this in the Open chat with no replies :(, hopefully can get some help here

Thank you

Not an easy choice. The Canon A490 shutter will go 15 sec, which is a real advantage for night with a tripod. But only the Fuji has IS, which is the sensor shift type (not optical). Buy from an outfit that makes returns easy!

I generally recommend Canon cameras, but the A490 lacks IS. Sometimes you can find IS-equipped Canon's for just slightly more, e.g the A3100IS.
