**Weekly Wildlife Thread #45-Sunday June 20, 2010**

Reknowned Mermaid Hunter, khoss aka Kurt, was also seen at the fabled parade, sporting his "hunting gaze":

He managed to avoid falling under the spell of one of the sirens:

But many others tried to lure him with their sparkly everythings.

You can see them here:

Be forewarned...epidermis is also on parade...

More to come....

Cheers,

This is my feeble attempt to capture this dragonfly trying to emerge. For the first I used a flash as it was behind a handle. Then I moved it twice to get better light and a better background. This was the best I could get with my HX1. It takes the insect a long time and if it is still around tomorrow I will try again. i would like to watch the wings unfold.
I need a macro lens. Soon.

What a great series to capture. I always assumed that something like this would take place in the reeds by the water. Is this in your cabin? I hope that you get to see the the wings unfold and we do too. You should post these again tomorrow because things get missed this late in the week.
Great shooting.

Jolene

I've got lots more to work through...will post a gallery link when I'm done.

I have a lot of respect for event photographers who get great stuff. You have to work quickly with always changing conditions. I'm glad to have documented a bit, at least. Getting really good stuff at something like this is quite beyond me.

Cheers,

Charles
and where more suitable to look than the weekly wildlife thread? Some pretty girls there, and lots of photographers.
