Hi:

I’m quite humbled by everyone’s concern, thank you very much.

Had the right eye done before Red Bull and of course I took zillions of pictures, then before I could get them all processed the left eye was done last Wednesday.

Last weekend our eldest son was having a surprise 60th birthday party for his wife and they live in Toronto, so my daughter and family and I went up for that.

Had two Doctor appointments today and on July 28th I have to have a bone marrow biopsy. Yuck.

Anyway after that tale of woe, I hope I can get back posting. :D

Again thanks everyone.

Hope this makes up for by absence. Lovely Catherine.

George I've got a question for you, as another old guy I recently had a stroke in the retina of my right eye, I don't know when it happened other that it was in the last 4 months after I last visited my ophthalmologist, all I thought was that I needed a new prescription for my glasses. They injected it Monday but apparently I've permanently lost all vision in the lower portion of the right eye, about all they can do at this point is try to figure out why it happened so it doesn't happen in the left eye.

Being right-handed I hold the 7D up to my right eye, I can't imagine holding it up to my left eye, for that matter I can't figure out how a left handed person holds a camera, they don't make left-handed cameras. What did you do when they removed the cataracts from your right eye?

That's a good news :)
Hoping now for the second one.

All the best, Michel

George -

Glad to hear the cataracts are working.

I thought you might enjoy the following (perhaps you are already familiar with it) that appears in the July/August issue of AARP magazine. "Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings" - John Gilllespie Magee Jr., a 19 year-old volunteer with the Royal Canadian Air Force who was killed in 1941.

Boy, that's tough.

Fortunately, I had no problem and all my Red Bull pictures were taken normally. Like you I can't imagine trying to take a picture using the left eye.

"High Flight" by Magee is well known by almost everyone here in Canada. I believe there was a movie produced using that as a theme. Quite stirring.

Thanks Roger

George,

Glad to hear you are doing well.
Now you will be able to see the chasers even better.

I haven't been posting much,
but I'm reading the forums everyday.

Thanks for keeping up on the posting.
Your shots are much more interesting than anything I have been shooting. :)

All the best,
