Ok is this my imagination or what! I have the Olympus C-4000 with a Digital Optics (Titanium Series) 2x Telephoto lens. When I am viewing the pictures via the LCD it really does not seem to me to have zoomed 2x so to speak. So in the past week I have been taking pictures and I can't understand why when I view the pictures on the computer thru ACDSee 5.0 the pictures loog GREAT and at the zoom I would have thought I would have seen on the LCD. How can the LCD see differnetly than is the file on the Smart Media, obviously I am imagining things right?

Don't laugh too hard but I am serious.

It's your imagination, try holding the telephoto converter up to the lens with the lcd on, you'll see the difference. You will not see the difference in zoom through the view finder if it's an optical one.

John, you may not be imagining things. One of the uglier business practices is advertising a teleconverter as 2x, when in actual fact it is more like 1.5x or even smaller. I did some digging and came up with this link from a sony owner. Compare the B300 (1.7x) and the titanium pictures. http://www.pbase.com/rwebb/lens_test
Sorry.
Regards

You have right , but its Sony's fault .. I guess that we should be happy because Olympus is more honest in their specs .

Nah, I wasn't clear. I really meant the camera used to compare the teleconverters was a sony. It's the digital optics titanium 2x teleconverter that didn't work as advertised (not really 2x). But I have no problems with blaming sony :-)

I agree it's good Olympus is honest about the specs. Another reason to buy Olympus lenses. Or to be extra careful when purchasing a third party lens (there are some good ones out there)

No the actual pictures loog GREAT !!

It's when I look at the LCD to take the picture ... then later when I get home I am amazed how well the picture was zoomed but not like it was how I remembered on the LCD.

My mistake. I was under the impression you were upset about Digital Optics 'creative' use of the 2x designation. With that not being the case, I'm glad you're happy with the lens :-)
