After a few months of searching I found a great deal on a used M8. In chrome! All thanks to Ken Hansen, who is deservedly highly recommended.

I'm currently using it with a Planar 50/2. Loving every moment of it. The learning curve is moderately steep, but it's such fun.

I'm debating whether to add on an Ultron 28 or the Zeiss 28 -- I like the price + extra stop on the former, but I really, really like the 50/2. Any advice?

Want a magnifier to use with the 50/2. Any one tried the replicas off eBay? Otherwise holding out for a used one from Leica...

A couple of pictures from today. Be gentle -- this is my first time with a range finder! :)

Nicely done on your first shots!

Ken is a GREAT guys, isn't he? I'd highly recommend him also!

The 50/2 Planar is an excellent lens, and easier on the wallet. It was one of the first i bought for my M8 and I'll never sell it.

I'm in the market for a 28mm myself, so I cant much help except to say I'm sure I'd be happy with the Zeiss, but it would be nice to spring for a Leica if I can dig up the funds :)
Voigtlander makes some nice lenses too!

Congrats. Have fun. I recently got an M8 myself and have been enjoying it. Have you purchased an IR filter? All my frustrations with the camera went out the window as soon as I got the filter, not that you mentioned any frustration. Just thought I would share my experience.

Congratulations and enjoy. I also have to second the comment about Ken Hansen. I bought a beautiful used M8.2 from Ken for a great price. His customer service is second to none and his responsiveness to questions is the fastest I've seen - bar none.

Thanks for looking everyone.

I have had one bug though. See the attached (rubbish) picture -- toward the center+top there is some odd blue fringing between the branches of the tree.

Is this chromatic aberration that coding the Zeiss 50 will fix or is this the 'fringing' problem with the M8 (I have a 310xxxx refurbed demo -- want to make sure it isn't a sensor problem).

p.s. Amy: Leica owe you a life time supply of cameras. You're a terrific ambassador for the brand!

It is WWS indeed! Spent some time there this past weekend.
