If the NEXs and/or NX had been released at the same time as the first M4/3, I think a single forum would have been created for these cameras. Support for the argument that these cameras belong together can be found in Michael Reichman's observation on LL that "We don't really yet have a name for the new generation of cameras represented by the Sony NEX series, Panasonic and Olympus Micro Four Thirds, and the Samsung NX10. I'm suggesting here today the name MARVIL, which stands for Mirrorless Reflex Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens."
On the other hand, there are obviously numerous DSLR forums for cameras that are similar in nature. Thus, at this point in time, a strong case can be made for a M4/3 only forum. (In fact, I wonder if sometime in the future there won't be separate O and P M4/3 forums.)
Nevertheless, I don't think anyone can deny the fact that the NEX, NX and M4/3s cameras share a common difference from both P&S and DSLR cameras. It is also clear that these cameras are competitors--which is good for consumers.
If the NEX/NX posts were monopolizing this forum, then I think your argument that NEX/NX posts don't belong on this forum would have more merit. However, despite the fact that the NEX review is just out, the first page of this forum continues to be dominated by M4/3s topics. Thus, I fail to understand to understand why you have such a problem with NEX posts. You, nor anyone else, has to read them and IMHO they don't pose a problem for people who only want to find andread M4/3s posts here.
I would like to know how many people think that it really serves everyone's best interests to restrict NEX postings to the Sony forums (many more posts on the Sony Alpha forum than on the Sony forum). Personally, I think the NEX has as much, if not more, in common with the M4/3s camera as it does with other Sonys (although the lousy NEX interface might suggest otherwise).
The bottom line is that, while I find posts on this forum that bash M4/3s cameras offensive, I don't have a problem with thoughtful comparisons of MARVIL cameras.
