Very enjoyable to look through, and inspiring. I can tell you really enjoy color, and the thoughtful compositions just make me want to go pick up my camera. :) Thx for sharing.

Yes, that dog was very special. I've seen him roaming around the castle ground in Les Baux and then back in the graveyard jumping on the first tombstone. Suddenly I had one of these Doisneau moments;).

For the rest, well, Provence is so full of potentialities, I guess I'll need another hundred years to capture half of it.

Thanks for looking and replying

Hi,

colour is a problem done in Provence, you just can't escape it. As you may have seen from other pics in my galleries, I'm partial also to black and white, but somehow the vivid spring colours just don't feel like b&w, at least not for the moment, I might get an inspiration at a later moment.

Nice pictures!

These threads are making me sooo happy that my brand new Da15 just arrived 5 minutes ago. Unfortunately I am at work, but cannot wait to get home and try it out...

Now, don't I know that feeling;) I wanted to post some first shots when I got the lens a couple of months ago, but my workload always kept me from doing so. Maybe there was some deeper reasons hidden and this has been the right moment with the right pics to show off this lens;)
Enjoy your lens

Haven't been down there for 4 or 5 years, not much has changed and it really has become my favourite spot to spent some good vacationin France (apart from climbing in the forest of Fontainebleau). Everything is just fine, not too expensive, great restaurants and vineyards;), nice cafés, good weather: I'll stop now, or else I will be going on for hours.
Thanks for your comment and for looking

Thanks for looking and replying, Marc.

Yeah, I own the 43, 77 and 15. Luckily I got them before the price hike, as the prices have soared. I've seen a difference of some 150 - 200€ on some. But I don't regret having them. Since having them, they've become my main lenses.

Thanks Lance, for your reply. I am glad you're still lurking around this forum, despite having the D700. I always find your posts quite valuable. And having some people around who have been manning this forum since when I joined gives this place a homelier feel.

Hi Joe,

sorry to hear about that. I'll stop complaining immediately about too much work for the rest of my replies today;).

Hope you'll be on the mend soon and can catch up with all the pictures you can't take right now.
All the best

.... I couldn't find a jumping dog, Paul :O ... I saw a walking cat and a
sleeping/relaxing cat and dog, but, no jumping dog :( And, my favourite
shot is this one:

And, I don't think I have seen any bad pics taken with the DA 15/4 ...and it's
just unfortunate that I am so happy with my DA 12-24/4 or I know the 15/LTD/
would be in my bag :)

Hope all is well in Da L'bourg :D

Cheers,

Jack

Thank you for the kind words, Paul.

I still have most of my Pentax gear and I like this forum and many of it's inhabitants and therefore I will still lurk. :-)

Your travel pics of France are exceptional and you should be very proud of them. I am going there in 4 weeks, so I hope I can get some photos half as good as yours!

Hi Jack,

everything's hunkydory over here in Luxembourg, apart from being overworked, underpaid;), lousy weather, bad traffic, horrible politicians..... Naah, just kidding, I won't complain. The dog actually is still on the page. If you're going on my website, scroll down and you'll find it. I've even singled it out. (Ain't I a nice peson;))

Have you seen the fish? I thought that might have been one of your favourites as well. Realistic street photography – well, in this case realistic restaurant photography.

Indeed you is and if your smugmug is you ... you look very similar to me
when I visited Luxembourg, albeit back in 1976 :O

Indeed, I have (seen it) and I love it .... and I will post one of my favourite "fish" shots later on :)

Cheers,

Jack
