Wanted to share a snap of my 2 month old.

D200 + 50 f1.8 still do work great for me.
CLS triggered SB800 thru Westcott 45" umbrella.

Thanks,
kparsha

Cute, but it would be better if you could grab his attention and the thing on the right side would not be present. Or if it would have been taken from a distance and more from the side so we could see what he is looking at.

Thank you for sharing.

Cute picture. I would find a way to mellow down the yellows in front of his face.

I understand it is personal preference, but I would not use the inner transparent frame.

Beautiful photo of a beautiful son. You will love that photo 5-10-20-50-75... years from now. Keep it close and protected and backed up. Thank you for sharing your photograph and your son. Probably no need to say this, take lots of photos frequently. Your are capturing a moment of time. Get enough, you've got a type of video. The difference is a video doesn't discriminate, your choice of photographs will.

Very nice shot, and sure to become a family keepsake. Keep all of your family shots backed up in more than one place and location if possible. dave

thx olyflyer, ur right, the attempt was to get his attention, or I shd have had the crib mobile in the frame too. Unfortunately he got upset right after a couple of shots.

I have a quite a few of him sleeping, but getting him to look at the camera and smile is way harder than I thought. I guess those wonderful moments are a few months away.

Thx for the input though. much appreciated.

Thank you, Tim.

The umbrella was to the right abt a foot away and angled down abt 30 deg.

With a 45' umbrella looking down I get pretty gud light on the other side too, but in some instances I would to use a reflector.

kparsha.
The lighting and colors look good, where did you place the umbrella in relation to the camera, and approximately how far from the subject?

Cute picture!

thank you rufusm.

The camera was not exactly parallel to the subject or the plain of the Swing chair, I believe thats what caused the difference in the DOF across the frame.
The (AF-C) focus was on the left eye.

Camera Settings.
A, f2.8, 1/60s, ISO200, 0EV, Jpeg Portrait.

Bumped up the saturation and contrast in PP.

Nice shot of your kid but, the image appears to be soft and the far left side is sharper than the rest of the image. Where was your focus point and what were your camera settings?

Thank you, Naked Truth,

hmm I would have preferred to get rid of the yellow OOF object from the frame all-together, unfortunately I am still waiting for another such opportunity to be presented by my LORD.

thx a lot dpmead, u r absolutely right. the snaps (not photographs) I got to take the moment he was born are far more precious than the best I have accomplished else where. This one is going into a permanent collection too.
