lens tube

I think you can find it at some Circuit City stores.

The Tiffen tube is half the price of the Olympus one, and it is hair longer, giving you the ability to attach a filter directly to the tube without a step-up ring. The CLA-1 from Olympus is too short for this and will result in the lens crashing into your 43mm filter...ouch!

I have a C-3040 with a C-1 lense tube. I tried buying a filter for it and had the lense crash problem. Does the C-4 work with the C-3040 or how would you suggest the most economical way to be able to add a filter at this point? Thanks for any help.

The cla-4 is for the c700. I think you have two options here.

1) by a used 43mm filter, break out the glass, and use that for clearance between the cla-1 and whatever 43mm filter or lens you want to use.
Or...
2) get a step-up ring say, 43 -> 49mm, and buy filters with that threadsize

I think 43mm filters are harder to come by than 46mm or 49mm filters (they are where I am), so the second option would probably be best.
